OK, folks, it’s time to look in your closets, drawers and basements and see what treasures you might have stashed around your house and bring them to the Treasure Hunters Roadshow, which makes a stop in Ames beginning Sept. 15 at the Quality Inn & Suites.

“We’ve been in existence for about 15 years,” said Jason DeLong, vice president of Treasure Hunters Roadshow.

“Most people don’t have antiques and other high-end items,” he said. “But they have unwanted items like broken jewelry and old coins.”

There’s no haggling over price, DeLong said, as Treasure Hunters Roadshow acts more like an auction service.

DeLong said recent finds include a 1960’s vintage guitar purchased for $100,000 and a coin purchased for $17,000.

“This guy had a coin just sitting in a drawer for years, and he had no idea how much it was worth,” DeLong said. “Needless to say, he was thrilled.”

Highly sought after items include gold, silver, coins, vintage jewelry, broken gold or silver jewelry, musical instruments and toys made prior to 1965.

The show will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. Sept 15 - Sept 19
