Dachshund - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - Sydney

Sydney is a 3 year-old, long-haired red dapple dachshund. He was adandoned at a shelter by a breeder. Though he is mostly blind, he can see shadows and gets around very well. Sydney is the sweetest, most loving & affectionate dog ever! He is very energetic and playful, and likes to play ball. He is an active boy, and would do well being walked at least once a day. Sydney enjoys sitting & cuddling with his foster mom and watching TV in the evenings. He does well with kids, but because he can't see well, he is sometimes startled by sudden movements, so it is recommended he go to a home with older children who will understand that. Sydney was recently diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), that may cause him to be more susceptible to bronchitis & other lung problems than other dogs. After much testing and some initial treatments, the veterinarian has said Sydney is very adoptable in spite of this. His foster mom says he is such a sweet baby -- very affectionate, playful and well behaved. He will make a loving and loyal companion to any lucky family who is committed to rescuing a special needs dog. Adoption fee: $150
